In September you get two for the price of one! As well as the usual Forum meeting Karen Cheney will be leading the selection process for the first part of the Celebrating Communities Fund (info after agenda here).
For this meeting we will be trying something different in that Rob Morris (our Chair) and some of the Committee members will be in the hall whilst everyone else is on Zoom. This is to enable us to try out the technology with a view to having hybrid meetings (in the Hall and on Zoom) going forward.
There is a special item on the Agenda this month as the Forum has been made aware of a proposal to move the post office currently on the corner of Dogpool Lane further up Pershore Road to the Nisa store (almost opposite the BP garage). There is an opportunity to make your views known.
Although it is not in Stirchley we know that many Stirchley residents will be interested in (and affected by) development of the former Fitness First site. A planning application has been lodged and can be found here.

Working on Parks and greenways (including River Rea & canal)

The next meeting of the Stirchley Neighbourhood Forum will be on Monday 14th June 2021
Below is the agenda for April’s meeting, taking place on Monday 12th April 2021 online. If you’d like to attend, please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be sent the link.
Since the last meeting, the planning application in respect of 1256-1258 Pershore Road (on the corner of Twining Road) has been approved. Subject to IT issues the applicant has agreed to join the meeting.
There will be a short presentation by Baby Bank Birmingham, which is based in Stirchley, and works a lot like a food-bank providing essentials to families with children 0 – 5 in Birmingham. There will an opportunity to ask questions.
We’ve got a bit of a different meeting for March, in fact it is a Special General Meeting. This means it is a meeting “called to discuss business usually considered at the Annual General Meeting or issues seriously affecting the Neighbourhood Forum such as a change to the Constitution.” It will take place on Monday 9th March 2020.
For anyone coming to the Forum meetings for a while, these won’t be a surprise; they’re mainly around making sure the Forum covers the whole Stirchley Ward (which changed since the Forum’s constitution was introduced), and a few other bits around how we tell people what’s going on.
The Agenda for our February 2020 is now available, below. The meeting will take place on Monday 10th February, doors will open at 7pm, for a 7.30pm start, at Stirchley Community Church on Hazelwell Street (opposite Stirchley Baths), B30 2JX.
