Traffic lights in Stirchley update

Residents will no doubt have noticed there are a lot of roadworks happening in Stirchley, mostly along the Pershore Road and high street. This is causing a lot of traffic in the area, as works are being carried out.

The roadworks for Breedon Bridge / Lifford Lane / Pershore Rd, which appeared today (16 August) are due to end in a week on 22/8/24, as are the ones near Morrisons.

The roadworks on Stirchley high street by British Oak are due to take a little longer, but are to be completed 30/8/24. This is due to the need to the need to excavate down within highway to expose existing foul / surface water sewers, and install new drainage lengths.

Libraries final phase consultation date

From late August to 27 September, Birmingham City Council will be launching the final phase of the libraries consultation.

This final phase will include a summary of the analysed feedback and data collected in the first phase of consultation (4 April to 17 July). It will also include a map of the proposed provision and what the library offer could look like for Birmingham based on the data gathered.

There will be a series of in-person consultations for each of the libraries that will take place from 2 September to 25 September. The in-person consultation for Stirchley Library will take place on Wednesday 4th September 2924 from 10:30am-12:00pm.

Meet the team building Pineapple Road station

Speak to members of the team building the new station in Stirchley, Pineapple Road, as well as the Moseley Village, Kings Heath stations.

Transport for West Midlands will be holding drop-in sessions where you can hear updates about the project and share your feedback with the team. they would be grateful if you could sign up for a session using the link below so they have an idea of how many people will be attending.

Pershore Road closure due to Great Birmingham Run on 5th May

The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run takes place on Sunday 5th May.

Whilst the route does not pass into the Stirchley ward, it will mean that a significant amount of the Pershore Road will be closed for most of the day. The route means that Pershore Road (South of Edgbaston) to Dog Pool Lane will be closed from 4am until 3.30pm on the day.
