Representing Stirchley Residents
The AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run takes place on Sunday 5th May.
Whilst the route does not pass into the Stirchley ward, it will mean that a significant amount of the Pershore Road will be closed for most of the day. The route means that Pershore Road (South of Edgbaston) to Dog Pool Lane will be closed from 4am until 3.30pm on the day.

Friends of Stirchley Library (FoSL) will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 13th April.
The AGM will be held between 2pm-4pm in Stirchley Community Church, and the committee have said it is open to all. At the meeting, FoSL committee will update attendees on the work of Friends of Stirchley Library over the last year, as well as provide information on how people can get involved if they wish.
Afterwards there will be a discussion held on Birmingham City Council’s proposed cuts to library services. Attendees from FoSL, who attended tonight’s Stirchley Forum mentioned the consultation, which is seeking views of residents. They did caution that the consultation isn’t a quick process nor is it straight forward and they will be looking at how to assist users of Stirchley Library on how to fill it in. We will provide more information when we receive it.

Residents who are not able to visit the Lifford Lane tip will be able to dispose of unwanted waste, as the Mobile Household Recycling centre returns to Stirchley.
On Wednesday 20th March, the vans and crew will be at the back of the Morrisons car park in Stirchley (B30 2YY) from 7:00am until 12:30pm.
CAN BE RECYCLED: Recycle any household rubbish that cannot be reused; standard recycling materials that usually go in your recycling; garden waste; bigger items like toys or small household items. Batteries, lightbulbs, small electronics etc can be recycled.
NOT ACCEPTED: Building materials, white goods (like fridges), hazardous materials and larger items will not be accepted.
No commercial waste can legally be accepted at any of the MHRC’s and any such material will be turned away.
Stirchley Primary School, on Pershore Road, has a job vacancy for an After School Club Manager as a permanent position that is required for ASAP / Summer Term.
Hours are: 3pm – 6pm, 15 hrs per week, Monday-Friday
GR3 – £25,119 – £31,364 pro rata
(£9,063 actual), term time only
Stirchley Primary School runs a Before and After School Club as part of an
extended day. A vacancy has arisen for an After School Club Manager
commencing as soon as possible in the Summer term. The hours are from
3:00pm to 6:00pm Monday to Friday.
Applicants should be qualified NVQ level 3 in an area which would support their
role within a school. Staff will be expected to work their hours on INSET days
and holidays are not allowed during term time.
The successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
