Changes to bus services in Stirchley

From Sunday 2nd July, National Express West Midlands are making frequency changes to bus services as they introduce their early summer timetables. The following routes that serve Stirchley Ward will be affected by these changes:

11A | Birmingham Outer Circle: The Monday – Friday peak frequency will be reduced to every 9-10 minutes, off peak frequency will be reduced to every 10 minutes, and Saturday frequency will be reduced to every 11 minutes.

11C | Birmingham Outer Circle: The Monday – Friday peak frequency will be reduced to every 9-10 minutes, off peak frequency will be reduced to every 10 minutes, and Saturday frequency will be reduced to every 11 minutes.

45 | Birmingham – Longbridge: The Monday – Friday frequency will be reduced to every 15 minutes all day. There will be a permanent change to the 45, which will terminate at West Heath after 9pm and no longer serve Longbridge. The frequency will also be reduced to every 20 minutes, combined with the 47 service.

47 | Birmingham – Longbridge: The Monday – Friday frequency will be reduced to every 15 minutes all day. There will be a permanent frequency reduction to every 20 minutes, combined with the 45 service, to journeys after 9pm.

Upcoming Bus Service Changes

Transport for West Midlands have advised of the following changes to bus routes.

No 19 bus

From 2nd April 2023, Kevs Cars & Coaches will vary their timetable to improve reliability. The route is amended to terminate at Longbridge during the peaks due to roadworks affecting reliability.

144A Longbridge to Bromsgrove

From 16th April 2023, National Express West Midlands are replacing this service by a new NXWM service 20 between Bromsgrove and QE Hosptial.

Changes to buses – Sunday 5th July

National Express West Midlands, who operate the numbers 45 and 47 buses that service Stirchley into Birmingham city centre, have advised that there are some changes to the bus stop location in the city centre.


45 & 47 – The route in Birmingham city centre will change. Buses will no longer serve Carrs Lane, High Street or Albert Street. Instead, buses will run along Moor Street Queensway and Priory Queensway, turning around at Old Square and returning along Priory Queensway and Moor Street Queensway.

Stop BS16 on High Street (outside Boots) will no longer be served. Buses will instead terminate on Priory Queensway at stop BS9. Buses will also stop on Moor Street Queensway at stop MS8 (towards Birmingham) and at stop MS16 (on journeys from Birmingham).
