Help name the new station

Do you want to help decide what the new train station should be called?

Map of new station in Stirchley

West Midlands Rail Exec (WMRE) are calling on residents to take part in a survey to decide the names of two of the new stations, one in Moseley and the other in Stirchley.

From the 11 – 25th May, the public can choose their preferred name for the station by visiting the WMRE website. For the new station in the Stirchley Ward, the choice is between three options: the previous name of the station that closed in 1941, Hazelwell; Pineapple Road, where the station will be located; or Stirchley, the council borough where most of the station resides.

Wickes to end residential parking privileges

Photo of a letter reading; Dear Resident,From -Wickes Home Improvements.
We have allowed residents to park in the carpark over the years. As from next week
(25/4/2022) we will unfortunately require the spaces to be vacant. We will have a carpark
management agency in place called G24. This will be in place to allow customers to park (90
minutes maximum in store hours) as we see an uplift in sales due to the store being refitted
and a reduction in spaces due to the delivery entrance extending.
I hope you understand and support the request.
Kind Regards, Management @ Wickes Stirchley.

Residents who have enjoyed free parking on the Wickes car park have been informed that the offer will no longer be available.

In a letter left on cars today, motorists have been advised that from 25th April 2022 a new scheme will be in place where the Wickes car park will be managed by G24, as they expect an upturn in sales due to the store being refitted. Motorists will be permitted to park for up to 90 minutes in store hours, according to the letter.

The letter states; “Dear Resident,From -Wickes Home Improvements.
